We were greeted by a pleasant E to SE breeze of 10 to 15Knots. We selected the number 2 genoa and headed to the start area to be joined by Xena, Wind Falls and Memphis.
As the start approached we had to search for the other three boats, they looked like to were having a nice chat together well behind the line. Well, this set the tone for the race, Barry got us off to a good start hitting the line a full speed. The “other three” started well behind and we just powered ahead throughout the race. We did notice the “other three” having a great tussle between themselves. It was nice to see Memphis up there mixing it with them.
Our only drama for the day was on the first spinnaker host from no 5. We managed to lose the spinnaker sheet, and by the time we recovered, the black spinnaker was not drawing until Abbotsford Point.
Farrago finished some 36 minutes ahead of the next boat. However Xena, Memphis & Wind Falls all finished within 1 minute of each other.
I have some photos from two earlier races, please see: http://www.paulfowler.com.au/f457920040
