Apologies one and all for the tardiness of this report however the responsible party (imported lowlife from LOEG who not only stole our wine but now refuses to write the report) has managed to evade capture thus it falls on my barrel chested shoulders :).
Today we are the veterans of PRSC, competing against young agile crews on the mighty Parramatta river in a battle of the generations..
We have the lounge room sitter from LOEG Brian, to sail sheet hand with us today. The balance of the LOEG, delicate souls that they are were affected by the heat and chose to dip out. I have no words to further describe their poor decision making.
The race started with Phill from Resurgent flying down the middle of the river with a 1.9 m run our out tide, leaving Still Festering and our selves in his wake. Working as hard as we could we made no indent on the margin between us and Resurgent whilst in the body of the river.
As we worked up wind to Gladesville, Still Festering moved into second place.
Rounding the Hunters Hill mark we chase both Resurgent and Still Festering, who carry no kite today, and as we sailed across Five Dock Bay, we leave still Festering in our wake as our big kite took effect. Working hard to catch those fellas on Resurgent we took every lift on the river and tacked on every knock, but alas, the Resurgent boys are sailing well and we can not catch them.
As we approach the last mark. We get challenged by 3 laser's who want to use our mark. Whats going on here we wonder ? We drop our kite around the mark, and sail to the finish line. This is when we realise that Resurgent has miscalculated and picked up the Abbotsford mark on their keel. We say to each other that it is a shame when that happens to you friends. Winner, Winner, bottle of wine! That's if you can get it back of the LOEG freeloader! :)
AOE Scribe.
