We started on Number 1 course in a lovely ESE breeze as usual battling the maxi's of division 1 and as usual more than holding our own (should I rephrase that? :))
The maxi's had hoisted kites and taken off so we hoisted our kite, or tried to anyway as it became caught in our diamonds. It took some manoeuevering but gradually became free and we took off for No 1 mark and the big boats.
Because of the beautiful, constant breeze it became a bit of a soldiers course and we had no chance of catching the big guys particularly after our spinnaker halyard stripped the outer casing and couldn't be cleated as we sped down to number 6
The big guys were a distant vision but L O E G, with George and Edward on board, finishing first well done boys, with Still Festering second and ourselves a distant third.
See you all next week, hopefully with a guest appearance of "barry Who".
