With Barry not sailing for 3 weeks we had James fill in his position for the day. With forecast SSE wind and flood tide. Starter for the day Lenny put as on SE course and with our friends on LOEG missing we had 4 boats starting......
It was a short work to mark 5, then a nice run to mark 1, then up into the bay to mark 4 working into the bay the boat felt good with good upwind boat speed. We rounded mark 4 in second place behind Still Festering set the spinnaker for run back to mark 1 then the vang broke meaning we couldn't control our boom height and were losing power out of the main sail but ahead we saw SF having spinnaker problems so we gained on then at mark1.
The rest of the race SF increased it's lead as it should do and we increased our lead on Resurgent and Bush Telegraph further back in fourth place.
We had an enjoyable day's sailing and James did a good job filling in for Baz. We may have to sail 2 up next week as James isn't available to sail.
