At start time 4 boats arrived for the 14:00 kick off SF, AOE, RGT & BT still wearing some gauze from its recent nose surgery on the bow, unfortunately the Grizwalls {LEOG} were still on vacation so the 4 boats departed in a relative civilized fashion.
Searles is our 1 st rounding and this saw SF being 1st boat around with RGT right on our stern closely followed by AOE and BT. The conditions made it a little easier for SF with the long reaching legs which is the boats preferred angle of sail allowing the gap to increase.
Around Goat we went with no spinnaker required for SF due to wind angle so a 2 sail reach for a comfortable trip to Snapper Island with RGT and AOE locked in an intense battle for 2nd place. BT unfortunately join the SF reaching club sailing up and down the river 2 sail reaching because of a rainbow spinnaker malfunction removing it from service for the day with a more than a sticky back repair required. The rest of the day was drama free for us but the battle for 2nd continued for the rest of the race. Positions across the line were st SF, 2nd AOE, 3rd RGT, and 4th BT with handicap results mirroring scratch results.
