Nevertheless Xena was in her element on the day. Having had her little bottom wiped clean during the week she revelled in the light NEaster and took off like a rocket on the sounding of the hooter. She was not even caught by the Div. 1 boats till well past our No. 6 mark (almost to Drummoyne wharf) on the way to the islands.
Great handy work at the front end resulted in fine spinnaker sets without a hiccup and we flew back from Cockatoo to the comfort of our bay. Even a large contingent of dinghy’s saw how well we were doing and kept well out of our way. Unfortunately our nemesis Wind Falls was not having such a good run. Maybe the margaritas went off in the heat of the day. Sorry Sandy but we were having too much fun to wait for you.
It was a great day out in the heat.
